Welcome to vom Pearlinhaus,
where Quality Bred and Family Loved AKC German Shepherds are raised in the home.
We're located in South Washington, close to the Columbia River. Our area is rich with western history and offers a variety of attractions such as the Maryhill Museum, Stonehenge, various Wineries, and of course the best Wind Surfing conditions in the Scenic Columbia River Gorge. We have the best of everything here that nature has to offer! We love outdoor activities around here and our "fur kids" enjoy it as much as we do.We love our dogs as family members. They live with us in our home, not in kennels. The personal photos you see on these pages are of our dogs in their every day life. They're true family dogs
When we do have puppies, they are raised in our home until 4 weeks old, then they start going outside to our fenced yard as well as their indoor /outdoor nursery area to experience a little more of their world such as the horse(s), cats and other life (pics on puppy page), but continue to spend their days interacting in our family life.
Our dogs are the high quality, down to earth, beautiful older style German Shepherds with carefully selected bloodlines consisting of Work, Therapy and CH Show lineage to give you the best of the best. See "About Us/Our Lines" for their Pedigrees. The pedigrees include Service titles; Therapy (TDI), Tracking,(CDX/TD), Utility (UD/ROM), Companion (CDX), as well as ROMs and of course the usual Sch I,II, & III, V & VA1 ratings.
I think we all know that quality can come at a fair price, and although our lines are competitive with the best, our pups are affordable for families, and come with the same guarantees. And rest assured our dogs are not kennel dogs, "backyard" dogs or mill dogs by any means! (see bottom of "About Us" page) I believe a family lifestyle instead of a kennel life makes a more stable, family minded companion/ protector. I have, unfortunately and unknowingly, had experience with kennel raised pups in my life. They were harder to integrate into the home and family than the home raised pups we usually had. The kennel raised pups were quite a challenge!) Our pups are born in our home so they have a natural bond with humans right from the beginning (and that bond transfers to you) and a realistic family/home experience from birth on. These are true FAMILY shepherds! This way of raising the pups has been in my family as far back as the 1930s, and over 80 years later they're still raised as a big part of our family.
Although our pups are capable of becoming anything you want them to become,
I hope they become your family member first and foremost.
My father had German Shepherds as did his father, who also trained. After more years than I want to admit to, the training strategies and techniques have grown as well. I'm proud to say that I continue to research new data from other top trainers/breeders as well as updated health information and the latest research on it all.
My love for the German Shepherd started with the dogs of my childhood in the early 60s, and it pushes me to improve at every chance I can get. My grandfather first introduced me to training at an early age, so I guess you could say that my interest is inherited from him. I trained my first one, a sable German Shepherd, when I was 12 /13 yrs old. He learned to climb, watch,"send away", come, stop, sit, lay down, stay, heel, etc.all with hand signals as well as voice commands. I was hooked from that point on (I have been told more than once by a sibling that I was always out training with our dogs LOL!) For me, it's a fun and fascinating field and I will continue to soak up all the research and facts until my last breath!
I love those German Shepherds I knew as a child, and I'm very particular to the quality of dogs I have today. They're impressive, intelligent, devoted, gentle when needed and stable enough for a family pet, yet solid, brave, confident and intimidating enough to protect their family.
This is the regal and truly versatile dog it was intended to be.
My goal is to take these strong structures, high intelligence, and stable temperaments and
breed them back into the mainstream German Shepherds for real families!

Another special thank you goes out to all the 4 legged soldiers out there keeping our loved ones safe. More would be lost without the detection and protection skills of these K-9s, not to mention the emotional comfort a bond can give! Our thoughts and prayers go out for their safety as well so that they can continue to serve and safeguard our loved ones. They give their lives for those who give theirs.

I also think the diet and maintenance care of these awesome dogs should be as natural & toxin free as possible. Like it was when we were kids and everything was a little more natural. Dogs just seemed to live healthier, longer lives. But that's just my own families experience, others might disagree and that's ok, each has a right to their own beliefs. But for every nay sayer of natural health care, there is another in favor of it with research to back it up... licensed vets' research included on each side of the issue. Each individual has to decide for themselves and their dog. Around here, I use Wolf Creek Ranch products in addition to my veterinarian. The natural products they offer cover everything from meds to shampoos and flea treatments.
**A friend's Welsh Corgi came down with vet confirmed Kennel Cough once and all the meds the vet was prescribing were super expensive and not doing much for her poor sweet Corgi. I suggested Wolf Creek Ranch products, she researched, ordered their products, and he improved as soon as she started the herbal meds and was completely well within 3 days.
