Welcome to vom Pearlinhaus,
where Quality Bred and Family Loved AKC German Shepherds are raised in the home. We're located off Hwy 97 in South Washington, between Satus Pass and the Columbia River, just outside of Goldendale, WA. Our area is rich with history and offers a variety of attractions such as the Maryhill Museum, Stonehedge, various Wineries, and of course the best Wind Surfing conditions in the Columbia River Gorge. We have the best of everything here that nature has to offer! We love the outdoor activities around here and our "fur kids" enjoy it as much as we do.
Our dogs flourish in the old country lifestyle and are around our horse as well as the barn cats and enjoy everyone. Our dogs are registered german shepherds (AKC) and one pair of pugs (also AKC) (they're the mascots LOL), a couple of barn cats and horses. Our pups are raised in our home until 4 weeks old when they get to venture out to their indoor/ outdoor nursery to experience a little more of their world while still spending time in the house with us.They are high quality, down to earth, beautiful older style German Shepherds with personally selected Champion lines mixed with Work and Therapy titles as well as the Show Champion titles.See "About Us/Our Lines" for their Pedigrees. These lines are competitive with the best, but our pups are priced for families! Our dogs are chosen for outstanding qualities that are important to the breed. Stable minds and temperaments, and solid physical structure come first. We guarantee Hips, Elbows & even Ears! (Some lines out there produce permanently floppy ears. I won't buy these lines nor breed this trait) We never breed "out" to others to avoid contagious issues. The coat, color and size are a bonus. The personal photos you see on this site are of our dogs in their every day life. They're true family dogs that are more like the old style German Shepherds of the past with nice pedigrees. (I make these pedigrees available to you on line). The pedigrees include Service titles; Therapy (TDI), Tracking,(CDX/TD), Utility (UD/ROM), Companion (CDX), as well as ROMs and of course the usual Sch I,II, & III, V & VA1 ratings. Our pups are capable of becoming anything you want them to become, but I hope they become your family member first and foremost. Their lineage shows winning capabilities, but I personally choose to breed more for families,& obedience trials/competitions, utility, and service.
I think we all know that quality can come at a fair price, and the highest price tags don't always mean better quality, sometimes they just mean a bigger chunk out of our wallet. You won't find the high priced, "highline" kennel dogs here. (I've found to many to have the "soft ear", "wet" face and /or wobbly hind ends or all that combined.See "The Breed/Our Dogs") Our dogs are different than kennel dogs, they're part of our family and live right here with us, just as the dogs of my childhood and as I hope yours will to. This makes a fantastic, stable family protector. They're not kennel dogs or "backyard" dogs and definetely NOT those poor mill dogs by any means. (see bottom of "About Us" page)They're outstanding dogs and have been chosen very carefully as pups because they will live with our family on a 24/7 basis. It's been this way for generations. Born in our home, the pups have a natural love/bond with a human family right from the beginning and that bond transfers to you. These are true family shepherds, a breed that has been in my family as far back as the 1930s, and over 80 years later they're still a big part of us. Some pet quality, some show lines, and some work lineage, but none are kennel dogs! No matter the lineage, my family believes in family style lives for our dogs.
My love and knowledge for the German Shepherd started long ago in my childhood back in the 60s. My father and his father before him had German Shepherds and my grandfather also trained. This is where I was first introduced to training, so my interest is an inherited one that grew with me. I trained my first one, a sable German Shepherd, at age 13. He learned to climb, watch,"send away", come, stop, sit, lay down, stay, heel, etc.all with hand signals as well as voice commands. I was hooked from that point on (I was told by a sibling that I monopolized our dog because I was always out training with him! So I guess I've always had that interest!) and now, after more years than I want to admit to, the strategies and techniques have matured. I'm proud to say that I continue to research new data from other top trainers/breeders. It's a fun and fascinating field for me and I will continue to soak up all the research and facts until my last breath!
I love the German Shepherds I knew as a child, and I'm very particular to the quality of dogs I have today. They have titled bloodlines, but with strong proper structures that don't need cosmetic assistance, beautiful colors and the capability of putting in a hard days work are typical to our German Shepherds. They're impressive, intelligent, devoted, gentle and stable enough for a family pet, yet solid, brave, confident and intimidating enough to protect them. This is the regal looking and truly versatile dog it was intended to be.
I strive to bring these healthy structures and stable temperments back to the mainstream!

A special thank you goes out to all the 4 legged soldiers out there keeping our loved ones safe. More would be lost without the detection and protection skills of these K-9s! Our thoughts and prayers go out for their safety as well so that they can continue to safeguard our loved ones.....They give their lives for those who give theirs.

I also think the diet and maintenance care of these awesome dogs should be as toxin free as possible. I have found a website that is extremely informative and helpful. In it you will find a nontoxic chemical free solution for almost every concern from shampoos to flea & de-worming treatments and much more without all those harsh, dangerous and toxic chemicals added. (have you read the warnings on common commercial pet products?) A very informative site for your pet needs!
